18-Year-Old Leads Florida Troopers on 100 mph Wrong-Way Chase
An 18-year-old woman is accused of escaping state troopers at 100 mph and driving in the wrong direction while carrying drugs, according to Florida law officials.
She was arrested on accusations of running and eluding, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, and felony narcotics possession, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on September 11, troopers attempted to stop a 2018 Dodge Charger with blacked-out headlights near Cape Coral.
However, the 18-year-old is accused of fleeing a traffic stop on Lee County’s Veterans Parkway and leading troopers on a high-speed chase.
During the chase, she drove on the incorrect day on a public route before troopers stopped her with a PIT maneuver, according to law authorities.
Troopers provided photos of the drugs and cash they discovered in the vehicle.
Cape Coral is approximately a ten-mile drive southwest of Fort Myers.
