20 People Hospitalized After Iowa School Bus Crash, Accident Investigation Ongoing
According to Iowa deputies, 20 passengers were sent to the hospital after a school bus collided with another on its morning trip.
A 76-year-old man driving a school bus near Granville collided with a 23-year-old driving a pickup truck on November 5, according to a news release from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported that 18 children on the bus were rushed to the hospital with a range of injuries, both mild and serious.
On November 5, at approximately 7:40 a.m., the bus was going to Unity Christian High School in Orange City. McClatchy News contacted Unity Christian High School but did not receive an instant response.
The sheriff’s office reported that both drivers were brought to the hospital. The 23-year-old was critically injured, according to officials.
The accident is still being investigated.
Granville is about a 50-mile drive northeast of Sioux City.
