21-year-old Arrested After Road Rage Shooting on I-43, No Injuries Reported

A 21-year-old guy was arrested following a shooting on I-43 on Wednesday, October 9. According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took at around 10:52 a.m. on I-43 northbound near Port Washington Road in Mequon.

According to the first investigation, the victim was heading northbound on I-43 in the left lane. A 2012 blue Ford Fusion driving to the victim’s right fired one round into his vehicle. The victim’s 2011 gray Toyota Tundra was hit on the front passenger side door.

According to officials, the round passed through the door, into the front passenger compartment, and landed on the center console near the gear shifter. The victim was the only one in the automobile and was not hurt.

The suspicious car was found, and a traffic stop was made in Mequon’s company parking lot.

Cameron Bardney, a Milwaukee resident, was detained and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, firing a handgun from a vehicle on a highway, and possession of THC – second offense.

A firearm was discovered on the center console of the vehicle.

According to witnesses, a road rage incident between the two automobiles happened before the shooting. The I-43 northbound lanes between County Line and Mequon were closed for about 45 minutes as the incident was investigated.
