21-year-old Boynton Beach Man Dies in Boat Accident Near Key Largo, Authorities Confirm
Authorities have identified the guy who died in a boat accident that injured two others near north Key Largo on Saturday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stated on Sunday that rescuers had recovered Eytan M. Genoune’s body from the water.
According to FWC officials, the 21-year-old from Boynton Beach was riding with two other persons on a 34′ Nor-Tech heading south when they were all thrown by a rapid turn.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said they got reports of the mishap at 10:26 a.m. Saturday, off the Card Sound Bridge near Pumpkin Key. This prompted air rescue and dive teams to rush to the location.
Two of the occupants, who have yet to be identified, were brought to the hospital, but Genoune was discovered dead in the sea, according to the FWC.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also verified to NBC6 that divers discovered his death as the other two people were transported to a hospital center. Their conditions are unknown.
