A Fountain man was detained last week after reportedly shooting at a vehicle carrying four people following a road rage incident.

Noah Gerber, 22, was detained on October 2 on suspicion of four charges of attempted murder and unauthorized discharge of a firearm. According to the arrest complaint, a mother and three teenagers were driving around 3370 Drennan Industrial Loop in Colorado Springs when a man behind them began driving aggressively and tailgating.

The mother and three teenagers told Colorado Springs police that they grew scared and attempted to drive away from the man after hearing him yell, “I’m going to f—— kill you,” from his vehicle. According to the affidavit, when they attempted to turn to escape him, the guy, who claimed to be Gerber, waved a pistol out of his car’s window and fired three shots, one of which struck the victim’s vehicle.

A video obtained by one of the victims shows a man claiming to be Gerber waving and firing his gun at the victims. The affidavit includes a screengrab from the video.

When Gerber was identified as a suspect, police discovered that he had been involved in a different road rage incident last year, in which he reportedly shot at another car. According to the complaint, Gerber’s girlfriend reported to Colorado Springs police in January that on November 24, 2023, he “fired a handgun at an unknown vehicle in a road rage incident.”

The affidavit claims that no one was hurt in the incident.

According to court records, Gerber posted a $50,000 surety bond to be freed from detention on the day of his arrest, October 2. He is set to make his initial appearance in Colorado’s 4th Judicial District Court on October 16.
