19-Year-Old Dances Around Victim After Point-Blank Shooting Court Documents Describe ‘Dumb Criminal
INDIANAPOLIS — According to court papers, the person suspected of shooting a 21-year-old man in the head was caught on camera dancing and skipping around the body of the victim.
19-year-old Kyis L. Glaspar is charged with two counts of murder in connection with the shooting death of Kiyon Davidson. One count of robbery causing major bodily injury is also being held against him. This is a Level 2 felony.
Newly released court papers say Glaspar is responsible for a shooting and theft that happened at Maple Creek Village Apartments on June 8. In the end, Glaspar left the city, but U.S. Marshals and the IMPD’s violent crimes unit found him and arrested him in Gary.
In this case, court papers name another 19-year-old as a co-defendant. They are said to have been with Glaspar when he was shot. This co-defendant is said to have been seen on surveillance video stealing things from Davidson’s body, including a gun, before running away with Glaspar.
At this point, no charges have been brought against the co-defendant.
Court papers say that several witnesses saw Glaspar and the other defendant at the apartment complex the night of the killing. A witness even said they saw Glaspar and the other suspect wearing ski masks. The same witness told the cops that they thought the two would run away to Chicago.
After the shooting, Glaspar reportedly wrote on Instagram, “Kd had dat bag till dem (blast emoji) blew da cash out (laughing emoji)” This post seemed to refer to Davidson’s theft and murder.
The police said that Davidson’s nickname was “KD.”
In the end, police looked at surveillance video that supposedly showed the killing. On the video, a guy who looks like Glaspar walks up behind Davidson and fires a single shot into the back of the victim’s head.
Glaspar is then said to have been seen “skipping away through the parking lot” and “dancing around the body right after the victim fell to the ground.”
A source told the police that Glaspar has been telling lies “nonstop” about killing Davidson, calling him a “very dumb criminal.”
According to court papers, Glaspar even posted a picture of police arriving at the scene of the crime the night of the shooting with the words “laughing face emoji” and “dancing man emoji” written below it.
According to court records, Glaspar’s phone last rang in Merrillville, which is in Lake County, before it was turned off.
GLASPER was arrested in Gary on June 13 by IMPD serious crime units, U.S. Marshals, and SWAT teams from Gary. The police haven’t said if the other suspect was also arrested.
