The Florida Onlyfans Model Who is Charged With Killing Her Bitcoin Boyfriend Gets a Break in Court
The computer hacking charges against a bikini model and her parents in the stabbing death of her boyfriend in a high-end apartment building in Miami have been dropped.
Courtney Clenney, an OnlyFans model who is 28 years old and has almost 2 million followers on Instagram, has been in jail since August 2022 on charges that she stabbed her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, who is 27, in the heart.
At first, the killing was thought to be self-defense, but detectives kept looking after Obumseli’s family raised concerns.
After reading emails between Clenney’s dad and her defense team, prosecutors later added computer hacking charges against her and her parents.
But those charges were dropped because the judge said the prosecution’s use of those messages broke the attorney-client protection.
Jude Faccidomo, the defense lawyer for the Clenney family in the hacking case, said that after reading the materials, the Miami State Attorney’s Office should step away from the case because it involved working privately with Courtney Clenney’s other lawyers on the defense plan.
A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said that detectives did not know that Clenney’s parents were working with Prieto as a client.
A spokesperson for the court said in a statement, “Judge Laura Cruz found that prosecutors did not know that attorney Frank Prieto represented Kim and Deborah Clenney because a retainer agreement hiring him was only produced after their arrest.” “Additionally, attorney Prieto never publicly indicated that he represented Kim and Deborah Clenney, only their daughter.”
He said that the police read the texts and saw proof of a crime, which they then gave to the judges. But after the judge’s ruling, they had to be thrown out.
Her parents are Kim Clenney, 60, and Deborah Clenney, 57.
In a group text, the parents are said to have talked about PIN and password choices with four of their daughter’s lawyers: Frank Prieto, Sabrina Puglisi, Manuel Recio, and Pamela Corvalan. It is said that these lawyers got the login information from the jailed murder suspect.
Friday, people asked Prieto and his office for a statement, but they never replied.
“Will you be sending the laptop PIN ideas so we can try them before you see her again?” A warrant for Kim Clenney’s arrest in Texas says that he wrote to the group on September 26, 2022.
“Good evening, everyone. He answered, “I have a couple that I can send to you tomorrow.” After four days, the dad wrote back, “Hell yeah!” “That PIN worked!”
Before, Prieto told Fox News Digital that there was “clear evidence of self-defense” and that Obumseli had choked Clenney right before he stabbed him.
“Courtney had no choice but to meet force with force,” he stated.
Friends of the couple told Fox News Digital that their relationship was very tense. Even though they said Clenney was usually the one who attacked. She tried to get a restraining order against Obumseli before he died, but videos have shown her yelling at him, hitting him, and calling him racist slurs.
Their first date started after they got back to the U.S. after meeting in Tulum, Mexico. They moved from Austin, Texas, to Miami, where Obumseli traded cryptocurrencies and became Clenney’s boss while she worked as an OnlyFans model.
On a video from a trip to Aspen, Colorado, in February 2022 that became public in January, Clenney yelled at and hit Obumseli several times in front of someone who was filming the event.
She screamed at Obumseli to leave and told him he was “fired” because she made her drink. She also said he wasted her money and flirted with other women. She is said to have killed him with a knife less than two months later.
Obumseli’s family lawyers say that a lot of proof shows that Clenney was the abusive, controlling partner with a history of crime, not Obumseli.
She had blood on her arm and taped fingers on her right hand in a picture shoot from later that same trip that Fox News Digital got their hands on.
A friend of both of them said that Obumseli showed up at another point in the trip with a new stitch on his face.
A friend told Fox News Digital, “Christian was a big guy who could have done a lot of damage if he wanted to.” But “Christian never fought back.” “He always would just take the abuse from her, and literally the video shows everything.”
Kimberly Wald, an attorney for the Obumseli family, told Fox News Digital that the family is suing the building manager of the high-end condo where the couple lived and the security company that supposedly stood outside their apartment and did nothing while they were stabbed.
Besides that, the family is also suing Clenney.
She is being charged with second-degree murder for the death of her boyfriend.
