A guy in Georgia was found guilty and sentenced for killing his wife out of anger, even though he tried to say she had killed herself.
The killer’s excuse was quickly thrown out, though, by the fact that the woman was shot many times before she died and by the evidence of someone inside the house who heard the barrage.
Craig Roberts, 45, was killed by Glenroy Roberts, 53, on August 2, 2022, because he didn’t like how she enjoyed her birthday.
According to the Gwinnett County District Attorney, the man was found guilty of killing the woman on Thursday by a jury in Gwinnett County. He was then sentenced to life in jail without the chance of parole.

Police say the couple’s 10-year-old son told them he heard at least four shots fired inside their apartment in Lawrenceville, a medium-sized neighborhood 30 miles northeast of Atlanta.
Glenroy Roberts told the 911 operator that his wife took his gun out of his closet and that they got into a fight, during which the trigger was pulled, killing Claudia Roberts.
But the husband did not tell the truth.
Glenroy Roberts later told the police that he wasn’t even in the room when the shot was fired. Instead, the killer, who has since been found guilty, said he heard shots and ran to see what was going on. When he got there, he found his wife dead in the closet from a gunshot wound she had given herself.
The husband was angry with his wife because she went to New Jersey with her mother to celebrate her 45th birthday. This was shown in court. Then he made sure the party didn’t last long.
“I guess he wasn’t happy with her for going,” Delores Squire, the victim’s mother, told WSB-TV in Atlanta, an ABC station. “That’s not how she should have gone down.” “That wasn’t fair to her.”
In addition, the prosecutors showed proof that she had two gunshot wounds and that they could not have been self-inflicted. This included the medical examiner’s report that led to her arrest. She had a wound on her head.
Samantha Phillips, the victim’s oldest daughter, told the TV station, “I knew my mother went down fighting.” “She wished to stay alive.” She knew she had to get everyone to move.
A jury of the defendant’s friends talked about the case for about two hours before finding him guilty. The judge in charge of the case quickly gave the sentence.
As a kind of punishment, Roberts was also given an extra five years in jail for other crimes he did that hot summer day. The person who was sentenced was found guilty of three counts of having a gun while committing a crime, one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, and one count of aggravated assault.
There were signs to warn you. Claudia Roberts’s mother said that her 21-year-old husband had been violent toward her for a long time, but she gave him more chances to keep the family together.
