Night 4 of the swimming competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris features superstars Katie Ledecky and Leon Marchand as the main attractions. This night also features the opportunity to win another five-pack of gold.

Marchand will compete in two events, the 200-meter butterfly and the 200-meter breaststroke, to win gold. Ledecky will compete in her hallmark event, the 1500-meter freestyle. In addition, the finals of the men’s and women’s 100-meter freestyle events are expected to feature dramatic finishes.

The final of the women’s 100-meter freestyle event

The “Red-Headed Rocket” Mollie O’Callaghan of Australia will compete in the 100-meter freestyle and the 200-meter freestyle events, both of which she won on Monday. She will seek to become the first woman to win gold in both events since 1980.

To accomplish this, she will have to traverse a final that is filled with stars, including seven Olympic medalists and Marrit Steenbergen, who is currently the defending world champion.

Torri Huske, who won the gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly, will come in first place, and Gretchen Walsh, who finished second in the 100-meter fly, will be in eighth place. Both of these athletes are from the United States.

Even though O’Callaghan is the favorite to win the gold medal, each of the eight women has a genuine opportunity to finish on the podium in this two-lap sprint.
