Officials Investigate Death of Wells Fargo Employee Discovered in Cubicle Four Days After Last Clock-In
An Arizona Wells Fargo worker in her 60s walked into her office on a Friday, what looked like any other workday. After four days, her body was found in her cell.
Police said that Denise Prudhomme, 60, was found dead in her Tempe office on August 20.
Authorities say she hadn’t been in or out of the office since 7 a.m. on Friday, August 16, when she was last scanned in.
Tempe police were called to the Wells Fargo office in the 1100 block of West Washington Street because security there had called to say that an employee they thought was dead. Police said it was clear she was dead at 4:55 p.m.
The Maricopa County medical examiner is still looking into the death to find out what caused it. Police said there were no clear signs of wrongdoing in the early stages of the investigation.

It’s not clear how Prudhomme got so long without being seen. A Phoenix NBC station called KPNX said she worked in a cubicle on the third floor, away from the main aisle.
An anonymous employee told KPNX that a coworker found her at her desk while walking around the building. The employee also said that several people had smelled a bad smell but thought it was plumbing problems.
Wells Fargo stated that she sat in a part of the building with few people.
“We are very sad about the death of our coworker Denise Prudhomme.” The company said in a statement Thursday, “Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in touch to make sure they are well supported during this difficult time.”
It said it was “committed to the safety and wellness of our workforce” and that it would be “reviewing our internal procedures after this event.”
There are counselors ready to help employees. Prudhomme’s coworkers found out about her death after her family was told by the company, Wells Fargo said.
