Pennsylvania Woman Charged With First-degree Murder After Shooting Pregnant Woman in Wawa Parking Lot
A 30-year-old woman was charged with murder for killing and shooting a pregnant lady outside a Wawa in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night, according to police.
Evelina Williams was charged with first-degree murder, criminal homicide, first-degree murder of an unborn child, and other felonies after fatally shooting 32-year-old Latoya Davis, according to authorities.
According to police, the incident took place in the parking lot of the Wawa at 910 MacDade Boulevard in Collingdale shortly after 7 p.m.
When cops arrived at the Wawa, they discovered Davis lying on the ground in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. She was declared dead at 7:25 p.m., authorities said.
Williams spoke with officers at the scene of the shooting and admitted to shooting Davis, according to police. According to the criminal complaint, Williams told officers that she fired one shot at Davis before putting the gun away in her car.
Police discovered a Ruger.380 semiautomatic rifle in her automobile and a fired cartridge case at the site.
Williams informed officers that she was licensed to carry a handgun.
According to investigators, a video acquired from Wawa shows Williams shooting Davis as she ran away.
The shooting is being investigated.
