Truck Crashes Into Tree and Catches Fire on I-295, Injuring Three People in Gloucester County
Police in New Jersey are investigating after three people were hurt after a truck crashed on I-295 in Deptford Township, Gloucester County, on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at about 7:38 a.m., state troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-295 North near milepost 23.3 in Deptford Township, Gloucester County.
According to officials, the vehicle was traveling northbound when the driver allegedly lost control, leading it to veer off the road and smash with a tree before bursting into flame.
The crash injured three persons, all of whom were transferred to a nearby hospital.
On Wednesday morning, a lady who claimed to have observed the incident told NBC10 that she and two other drivers rescued the driver and two passengers from the blazing vehicle before first responders arrived.
The woman told NBC10 that when the truck began to fire, the driver and passengers “were stuck” inside. She also uploaded an image of the truck involved, which she claimed was engulfed in flames after the early morning incident.
According to police, the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
