Orlando Weather Update: Mild Temperatures and Low Rain Chances for Early Wednesday
ORLANDO, Fla. – There is a tiny chance of passing sprinkles early Wednesday morning, but no significant precipitation is forecast.
Temperatures will drop into the 60s, with a gentle breeze remaining in most places. Wednesday’s highs will reach the upper 70s to mid-80s.
LOOKING Ahead: A high-pressure system moving in from the north is predicted to dominate Thursday through Saturday, clearing clouds and reducing the likelihood of rain. Winds are also expected to subside.
Conditions for beach and boating activities will improve dramatically in the coming days as the leftovers of Hurricane Oscar move away from Bermuda.
However, rain is expected to return around Halloween next week as higher humidity moves into Florida, potentially bringing daily showers and thunderstorms.
Tracking the Tropics
Oscar is no longer designated as a tropical cyclone, but its remnants are expected to hit Bermuda late Wednesday and early Thursday. Meanwhile, the leftovers of Hurricane Nadine, which passed over Mexico, are forming a new hurricane in the eastern Pacific.
The tropical Atlantic stays quiet following Oscar, but attention shifts to the Caribbean as November approaches. Light wind shear, high ocean temperatures, and enhanced moisture are all forecast, making conditions suitable for tropical development. A system could emerge around Election Day, November 8.
Tropical systems in the Caribbean during November typically migrate northeast, rarely making landfall in the United States. The next name on this year’s storm list is Patty.
According to tropical weather records dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, just three hurricanes have made landfall in Florida in November. While it is feasible, as demonstrated by Hurricane Nicole in 2022, such events are exceedingly unusual, occurring only three times in nearly 175 years.
