OCEANSIDE, CA – A passenger car and a large truck collided on Interstate 5 in Camp Pendleton’s southern extremities early Wednesday morning, killing one person.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway in the Oceanside area, roughly five miles south of Las Pulgas Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, whose name was not immediately revealed, died on the scene.
For a short time, the southbound side of the interstate was completely closed due to the collision.
