SSI Beneficiaries to Receive December Payment on November 29 – Will 2025 COLA Be Included?
The SSI program does not always provide monthly payments on the same day. Direct deposits and checks are often issued on the first day of the month. However, some days may fall on a weekend or even a federal holiday. Whenever this occurs, the Social Security Administration (SSA) must postpone paydays.
As a result, the SSI payment for December 1 has been pushed back to an earlier date. Because it would be impractical to send it on December 1, the Social Security Administration has arranged direct deposits and checks for November 29. That is 48 hours or two days in advance.
How Much Money Will SSI Beneficiaries Receive on November 29, 2024?
If you remain qualified and your financial or personal condition has not altered, you will be paid the same amount as on November 1, 2024. The average SSI payout is $697, down from $698 in the previous monthly snapshot provided by the SSA. Check all the available payment amounts below:
Beneficiary Group | Average SSI Amount |
All Beneficiaries | $697 |
Under 18 | $813 |
Aged 18-64 | $743 |
Aged 65 or 65+ | $574 |
SSI recipients who have recently married, begun working, or experienced other significant changes in their lives must report it. This is because your payment amount may vary. It could sometimes be higher or lower. It will depend on the situation.
Will the November 29 SSI Payout Include the 2025 COLA?
The SSI payment for December, due November 29, 2024, will not include the 2025 COLA rise. Recipients will have to wait until December 31, 2024, to benefit from the 2025 COLA rise.
While all Social Security claimants on retirement or disability (SSDI) payments will have to wait until January 2025 for the 2.5% increase, those on Supplemental Security Income will receive it considerably sooner.
Keep in mind that retirees and SSDI claimants will get their first January installments between January 3 and January 22, 2025. Apply for SSI if you have a low income and little or no resources.
