State Line Man Arrested in Connection with New Year’s Triple Homicide at Convenience Store

A man from State Line is facing charges related to a triple homicide that occurred on New Year’s Day at a convenience store in Greene County.

Store clerk Rhonda Denson, her boyfriend Lester Campbell, and store customer Jason Thornton were all killed inside Clark’s convenience store at 6 a.m. on January 1, 2025. Early Thursday, 37-year-old Drexler Johnson was arrested in Wayne County and charged with accessory after the fact.

According to Ryan Walley, the Greene County Sheriff, an investigation into the incident is currently underway. Whether or not the gunman’s identity had been revealed remained a mystery to him.

“Anyone with information should continue to contact our office. I am thankful for the community’s assistance in providing information,” Walley stated. “We are still meticulously examining this case, and it is my utmost concern, so I can bring justice to every family impacted by this terrible event.”

It was unclear to Walley if bond had been set or if Johnson had had an initial appearance.
