Delmarva Faces Heavy Snow as Winter Storm Moves In Sunday Into Monday
CNS –
Now that we’re getting closer to the weekend, we wanted to give you the heads up about a winter storm that’s going to hit our area, especially between Sunday and Monday.
Northern Delmarva and northern Maryland should expect this storm to have a substantial impact, while southern regions may have a combination of winter weather, including rain, which could lead to less snowfall.
Current forecasts predict that a considerable snowfall of 2-5 inches could cover areas along the I-95 corridor, extending from Washington, DC to Wilmington, DE. Communities such as La Plata, Easton, Dover, and Vineland should also prepare for 1-2 inches of snow.
For residents south of this region, conditions will begin with rain but are expected to transition to ice and light snow accumulation of less than an inch.
Snow and rain are projected to commence Sunday morning, intensifying throughout the afternoon. The precipitation is expected to taper off by early Monday morning; however, please brace for dangerously cold temperatures as we start the new week.
