I-Team Investigation Reveals 1,000 Georgians Arrests Due to Faulty Drug Tests
CNS News–An alarming study from the Penn Cary Law School at the University of Pennsylvania has shed light on a serious issue in Georgia’s law enforcement practices. According to the study, approximately 961 Georgians are falsely arrested each year due to the reliance on inaccurate roadside drug tests.
These disposable tests, costing merely $2 each, are commonly used by police to identify illegal drugs during traffic stops or crime scene investigations. The study’s findings raise significant concerns about the reliability of these tests and the implications for those wrongly accused.
The high number of false arrests not only undermines public trust in law enforcement but also places undue strain on individuals who are falsely implicated in drug offenses.
Study estimates nearly 1000 Georgians wrongly arrested for drug possession because police put too much trust in $2 roadside drug test. The @FOX5Atlanta I-Team began investigating these tests in 2018. https://t.co/dev789Vg0l
