A Lawyer in Mississippi is Being Accused of Bringing Illegal Items Into a Prison
HINDS COUNTY, Miss. – On Thursday, August 8, a lawyer from Mississippi was arrested for reportedly trying to bring illegal items into a prison.
Daniel Sidney Dale was charged with two counts of plotting and three counts of bringing illegal items into a prison, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.
The sheriff said Dale was pretending to be a lawyer for some Hinds County prisoners and was reportedly sneaking cellphones and other illegal items into visitations.
Jones said that Dale was found to have four cellphones and several items of illegal goods during a tour on Thursday. He was arrested, questioned, and then charged.
“Attorney Dale put the safety and integrity of the Hinds County Detention Facilities and the public at risk while in a trusted position to protect the constitutional rights of arrested suspects.” Jones said, “This investigation is still going on, and more charges and/or arrests could happen.”
