A Teacher in Arizona is Accused of Sexually Abusing a Boy Who Had Run Away From Home
Robyn Rogers, 44, was arrested on July 11 and charged with three counts of sexual conduct with a child, among other things.
A teacher in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, was arrested on charges that she sexually abused a lost 17-year-old girl.
As reported by AZ Family, Robyn Rogers, 44, was arrested on Thursday, July 11, after the Lake Havasu City Police Department got information about where the girl was.
Police said they went to a place off of Highway 95 and Palo Verde Boulevard that day and talked to Rogers. Rogers was allegedly hiding the 17-year-old, who ran away from home in February, according to the news source.
Local news source According to The Bee, the teenager went missing on February 14. Two days later, an investigation into his absence began.
People tried to get in touch with the Lake Havasu Police Department but did not hear back right away.
Rogers was charged with three counts of sexual conduct with a child, as well as with obstructing justice, giving false information to police, having drugs on his person, and having drug paraphernalia.
Rogers taught at Telesis Preparatory Academy, according to the Today’s News-Herald Havasu News, a local news source. It is said that she taught child development and life skills and coached cheerleading, but her name has been taken off of the school’s staff head.
For Today’s News-Herald, the superintendent of the district said, “The staff member is no longer employed at our school.” We do not have any more information.”
Rogers is in the care of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and has a $30,000 bond.
It’s not clear right now if she has pleaded guilty or hired a lawyer.
