Aiken Woman Killed, 11 Hospitalized After Edgefield County Crash Involving Van and Car
Aiken woman was killed, and 11 people were taken to a local hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Edgefield County on November 10.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Gary Miller, the incident occurred around 3:35 p.m. on Plum Branch Road near Morgan Busey Road.
The roads run northwest of Edgefield. Miller said the driver of a 2004 Toyota Sienna van ran a stop sign at the intersection of the two roads and crashed with a 2003 Toyota Camry.
According to Miller, the driver and two passengers in the Camry were taken to a local hospital.
According to Miller, the driver and seven passengers in the Sienna were sent to a local hospital. Another passenger in the van died at the scene, Miller said.
Edgefield County Coroner David Burnett identified the passenger as Rupal Patel, 52, of Aiken.
