Ak-47s, Drugs, and Counterfeit Bills Found After 15-year-old Crashes in NC Police Chase, Officials Say
Police claim a 15-year-old crashed a car following a chase in North Carolina, and a revolver, two AK-47 rifles, numerous rounds of ammo, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, ski masks, a Halloween mask, and counterfeit $100 bills were discovered inside.
This occurred at midnight Tuesday in Asheboro. According to Asheboro police, officers responded to a report of shots fired on Vision Drive and approached a suspicious car.
The vehicle escaped, resulting in a chase.
According to officials, the chase began on Vision Drive and then continued to I-73 southbound. The driver lost control while exiting North Carolina Highway 49 and attempting to leave Old NC Highway 49.
As a result, the truck overturned and fell on its side.
According to officials, the driver, a 15-year-old, was ejected from the vehicle, while a passenger was partially ejected and pinned under it. A second passenger managed to climb out of the car.
The driver and second passenger were transported to a nearby hospital, while the pinned passenger was airlifted to a hospital. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to investigate the accident.
During the search of the vehicle, authorities discovered a handgun, two AK-47 rifles, many rounds of ammunition, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, ski masks, a Halloween mask, and counterfeit 100 dollars.
According to authorities, around 100 expended shell casings of identical calibers were found at the location of the shots fired call on Vision Drive.
Officials said a juvenile petition would be filed against the driver, and Juvenile Services would assess charges.
