Alabama Crash Results in Fatality of 4-Year-Old and 4 Injuries

The Trussville Tribune reports that in Covington County, Alabama—a four-year-old boy was killed and four others, including two small children, were injured in a two-vehicle accident that happened on Sunday night, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney.
The accident occurred at around 5:22 p.m. on Alabama 55, involving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 34-year-old Catherine Grace Nixon and a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by an 18-year-old.
After being transported to a nearby hospital, the 4-year-old passenger in the Equinox tragically passed away from their injuries.
Nixon was sent to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, for treatment after being evacuated from Andalusia.
A postal worker from Birmingham was found guilty of sending checks to a telegraph fraud channel.
A 5-year-old and a 4-year-old were two of the other injured passengers who were taken to a nearby hospital in the Equinox.
Transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, the 18-year-old Silverado driver was hurt in the incident. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened around seven miles north of Red Level municipal boundaries, close to the 45-mile marker.
Troopers from the Highway Patrol Division of ALEA are still investigating the collision.
