A violent altercation occurred at a family-oriented amusement park on Long Island Sunday afternoon, resulting in one individual stabbing another in the stomach. The incident took place following a heated argument between two families, as reported by law enforcement sources.

A resident of Shirley, Daniel Tomasky, 42, reportedly stabbed an acquaintance, James Burns, from Florida, at Adventureland Amusement Park around 4:50 p.m. The incident resulted in the 47-year-old victim being taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, according to Suffolk County police.

According to sources, a disagreement between two families at a well-known summer attraction in East Farmingdale led to a stabbing incident.

According to the authorities, multiple individuals were engaged in a confrontation that took place in the presence of at least one child.

According to the police, Tomasky has been arrested and is facing charges of first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and other related criminal counts.

He will spend the night in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in Central Islip on Monday.

Following a thorough investigation by the authorities, Adventureland resumed its normal operations, according to a spokesperson for the park, as reported by Newsday.

Long Island’s premier family entertainment destination has been providing fun for all since 1962. With summer hours from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., there’s plenty of time to enjoy all the park has to offer.

“It’s quite unfortunate because we’re here with children,” expressed Jessie Hagelstein of Ronkonkoma to News 12. “This amusement park is designed for children and families to enjoy a fun-filled experience together.”

The park’s leadership has consistently highlighted the significance of safety within the park.
