America First Legal Launches Investigations into Biden-Harris Administration’s Handling of Migrant Gangs
A non-profit group called America First Legal (AFL) began looking into the Biden-Harris administration on Thursday because of “growing violent illegal alien gang activity” in parts of Colorado and the Midwest.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were all looked into by America First Legal.
Ten members of the Tren de Aragua gang were arrested in Aurora, Colorado after a security video from an apartment building they had taken over went viral at the end of last month. This is when America First Legal filed its FOIA requests.
In their investigation release, AFL said that the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies were “reckless” and that “these gang members would not be here if we had a secure southern border.”
“The Biden-Harris administration’s choice to open our borders to the world is what made it possible for violent Venezuelan gangs to take over American communities,” said Gene Hamilton, Executive Director of America First Legal.
“The crimes committed by these aliens are—by definition—preventable, but this administration has decided to ignore public safety and prioritize the importation of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.”
Tren de Aragua is an international prison gang based in Venezuela that has been linked to trafficking people, selling illegal drugs, and making threats with guns. It is said that the gang has about 5,000 members.
The main places that America First Legal is looking into are Aurora, Colorado, and parts of Illinois and Wisconsin where TdA behavior has been seen.
The first day that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were in office was January 21, 2021. That’s when they made their Freedom of Information Act requests.
Harris was once hailed as the “Border Czar” of the Biden administration, but she has distanced herself from that role since becoming the Democrat choice.
Is Border Czar Harris serious about getting rid of the danger of foreign gang activity in the US? If so, she would secure the border and send illegal immigrants back to their home countries. “That’s all there is to it,” said Gene Hamilton, Executive Director of America First Legal.
Joe Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of the “Root Causes Strategy” in February 2021. Harris said that the strategy would help figure out why people from Central American countries have had to flee to the United States. The White House stood by this scheme and Harris’s leadership of it as late as March of this year.
A report from the House Committee on Homeland Security says that since President Biden took office in 2021, there have been 9.5 million contacts with illegal aliens. There are about 1.7 million “gotaways,” or people who are in the United States illegally.
Two of the Tren de Aragua members who were arrested in Aurora were freed even though Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Colorado asked them to be held.
Activity by the Tren de Aragua gang has also been watched in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin recently: Alejandro Jose Coronel Zarate, who is 26 years old, was arrested last week on charges of domestic attack. He was caught with fake U.S. Social Security cards and fake visa papers.
