An Alabama Man Was Caught After Shooting and Killing Someone in a Providence Walmart Parking Lot

PROVIDENCE, R.I.— After someone was shot and killed in the Silver Spring Street Walmart parking lot on Saturday morning, police have arrested a guy from Alabama.

The man who shot and killed 51-year-old Alabaman Eric Campbell is being charged with murder. Shawn Slaughter is 56 years old.

When police got to the parking lot early Saturday morning, they found Campbell shot and lying in a box truck.

Campbell was taken to the Rhode Island Hospital but was declared dead soon after getting there.

Police said Campbell and Slaughter seemed to know each other and were at Walmart to “work on the floors” when they got into a fight.

Slaughter is also charged with having a gun without a license and having a gun while committing a dangerous crime. His main charge is murder.
