Another 69-year-old Woman Was Hit in the Face on a Street in New York City: NYPD
MANHATTAN, New York — When As she was strolling down the street on the Upper East Side earlier this month, a woman who was 69 years old was hit in the face, according to the police, who made the announcement on Tuesday.
According to the New York Police Department, the suspect carried out an attack on the victim at approximately 12:50 p.m. on May 7 in the vicinity of Lexington Avenue and 83rd Street. Bruising and swelling were seen on the victim’s face when they were transported to the hospital.
The individual, who was bald and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue leggings, disappeared after the event, according to the police. He was carrying a backpack and dressed in these items. No arrests have been made at this time.
Over the course of the last several months, there has been a run of more than a dozen random attacks that have been reported to the police and broadcast on social media. These attacks have resulted in women being punched in the face.
The woman, who was 72 years old at the time, was strolling in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, on May 8 when she was allegedly punched in the back of the head. The incident occurred near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 96th Street.
According to the most recent data from the New York Police Department, the number of minor assaults across the entire city has increased by about seven percent this year compared to 2023.
