0

Some 66-year-olds may receive a payment of $4,018 in January 2025. The Social Security Administration has adjusted the maximum amounts at Full Retirement Age (FRA), and certain retirees may receive a higher check next year.

The new maximum amount is related to the cost-of-living adjustment or COLA. Even if the 2025 COLA increase is only 2.5%, the maximum amounts at FRA have grown considerably.

Who Will Receive a $4,018 Social Security Cheque in January 2025 at the Age of 66?

To your knowledge, this hefty cheque will only be issued to American workers who have been high earners for more than three decades and meet other crucial qualifications.

As a result, for many years, this large payment will be unavailable to Americans earning average or low wages. The Social Security Administration has established the following prerequisites for receiving $4,018 in 2025:

  • Filing at Full Retirement Age in 2025 (66 years and 10 months).
  • Requirements for Social Security acceptance include working for at least 35 years
  • Earning the taxable limit
  • Adhering to SSA guidelines
  • Working in SSA-covered jobs.

Next Social Security Payment Date with Checks Totaling $4,018

According to the 2025 payment schedule for retirees aged 66 or above, the new updated amounts will be sent beginning January 3, 2024. To receive money on January 3, you must have begun collecting retirement benefits before May 1997.

Another option for getting money on January 3 is to receive SSI benefits. However, this advantage for low-income consumers prevents you from receiving a significant payment.

The other January paydays will be on January 8, 15, or 22. To receive money on these dates, you must have been born between 1-10 (Jan. 8), 11-20 (Jan. 15), or 21-31 (Jan. 22). Keep in mind that delayed filing until you are 70 can increase your monthly payments by approximately 24%.

In 2025, the maximum benefit payment for 70-year-olds will be $5,108, up from $4,873 after the SSA announced the 2025 COLA increase on October 10, 2024.
