Breaking Point: Deputies Arrest Tavares High School Student for Fighting with 16-Year-Old Girl!
CNS News–In a concerning incident at Tavares High School, an 18-year-old student, Jamielynn Parsons, found herself facing charges after a physical altercation with a 16-year-old girl on Monday afternoon. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident, resulting in Parsons being charged with battery and resisting arrest with violence.
The altercation occurred shortly after the school’s dismissal at 2:25 p.m. According to the arrest affidavit, the confrontation unfolded when Parsons and the unidentified 16-year-old girl engaged in a fight just minutes after dismissal. A deputy attempted to intervene by standing between the two students to prevent further escalation.
Unfortunately, the situation escalated when the 16-year-old girl fell to the ground, and Parsons allegedly continued to swing at her. During the scuffle, Parsons reportedly punched a deputy in the eye as law enforcement tried to maintain control of the situation.
Despite efforts by the deputy and a school administrator to restrain her, Parsons persisted in attempting to strike the 16-year-old victim. Jamielynn Parsons now faces legal consequences for her actions. She has been charged with battery, classified as a first-degree misdemeanor, and resisting arrest with violence, categorized as a third-degree felony.
