BROOKLYN, New York— The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) says a mother in Brooklyn is looking for her teenage girls who haven’t been seen or heard from in two weeks.

The NYPD says that Mya Ortiz, 15, and her sister Evelyn, 13, were last seen leaving their home on Woodbine Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, around 12:30 a.m. on August 11.

Their mother, Evette Ortiz, told NCMEC that the girls haven’t been seen or heard from in a while and that she is scared about their safety.

Someone from NCMEC said, “Evette wants her daughters to know how much she misses them and needs them back home.”

Mya, who is 108 pounds and 4 feet 10 inches tall, was last seen wearing a black sweater and black pants. Police say that her sister was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and pajama pants. She is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.
