California Man Charged With Murder After Allegedly DRUGGING AND ASSAULTING MULTIPLE WOMEN
A California man drugged and raped nine women, one of whom died from an overdose, according to investigators.
Michel DiGiorgio, 50, is now facing one crime of murder, three counts of rape by drug use, and a slew of additional sexual-related offenses in connection with the case. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced the accusations on Friday.
California investigators suspect the sexual assaults occurred between 2019 and 2021 in homes in Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach.
DiGiorgio owned the properties, although it is unknown how he met or knew the victims.
Investigators did not explain why it took two years after the assault to arrest DiGiorgio in connection with the case. He is accused of drugging and raping a lady before her overdose death on July 6, 2020. The victim’s name has not been released.
DiGiorgio is being kept in jail without a bond. If convicted, DiGiorgio will face life in jail.
Investigators said they think there are further victims and have requested anyone with information to contact police.
“I extend my deepest sympathy to the victims, whose lives have been irrevocably changed and the life lost by the alleged brutal acts of the offender,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. ”
Our office is committed to holding him accountable for the pain and trauma he has caused.” Our community’s safety and well-being come first, and we will not accept this type of predatory behavior. I encourage anyone with knowledge about these instances or any additional incidents involving Mr. DiGiorgio to contact the Redondo Beach Police Department.”
