CNS NewsA disturbing event unfolded in Palm Beach, Florida, where 38-year-old Alexander Nicholas Fanjul, heir to a prominent sugar company, was arrested following allegations of assaulting his girlfriend. The incident reportedly occurred after a dinner at Flagler Steakhouse in the Breakers Hotel, where Fanjul became irate upon being seated next to a gay couple.

The altercation escalated upon their return home on January 28th, culminating in a violent attack that left the victim with severe injuries across her body. Palm Beach police were summoned to the scene around 11:30 pm after reports of a woman screaming were made by a concerned individual.

Officers discovered Fanjul in a compromising position over the victim, who was found on the floor, defensively curled up and bleeding from her face. The situation reportedly deteriorated at the steakhouse when Fanjul expressed his displeasure at their seating arrangement next to a same-sex couple.

His frustration continued to escalate throughout the evening, ultimately leading to the assault where Fanjul punched, kneed, and dragged the victim, inflicting substantial physical harm. Fanjul, a member of the prominent Fanjul family involved in the Florida Crystals corporation, faces serious charges including domestic battery by strangulation, robbery, false imprisonment, and possession of cocaine.
