CCTV Footage From 2016 Shows Sean Diddy Combs Hitting Cassie
In a video shared to social media on Sunday, Diddy talked about the video. “It’s so hard to think back on the worst times of your life.” You have to do that sometimes. I was messed up. I hit rock bottom. I don’t have a reason. What I did in that video is unacceptable. I’m fully responsible for what I did in that film. I feel disgusted. It made me feel bad to do it, and it still makes me feel bad now. I went to therapy and treatment to get help from a professional. Asking God to be kind and merciful. I’m really sorry. But I promise that every day I will be a better man. I’m not asking for you to forgive me. I’m really sorry.
Last year, Ventura sued Combs, saying that she had raped her and abused her physically over and over again for years. The lawsuit specifically mentioned the event that happened at the InterContinental Hotel. Ventura said that the surveillance video caught her trying to get away from Combs after he hit her in the face and gave her a black eye. Ventura further said that Combs paid InterContinental $50,000 to keep the security video and stop it from being released.
Ventura and Combs reached an undisclosed settlement the day after Ventura filed the case.
Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, told CNN in a statement about the release of the surveillance tape, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs.” There are no words to describe how brave and strong Ms. Ventura is for coming forward to bring this to light.
Homeland Security agents searched Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March of this year as part of a federal probe into sex trafficking. Several civil cases have also been filed against him, accusing him of sexual abuse.
By now, Combs has said that he is innocent. “People who want to get rich quickly have made sick claims against me,” he wrote in a message shared on social media on December 6, 2023. “Let me be clear: I didn’t do any of the bad things that are being said about me.” I’m going to fight for the truth, my family, and my name. At the same time, his lawyer said that the government’s raids on his houses were a “gross overuse of military-level force.”
