Cousins Were Arrested After a Strange Event With a Possible Pipe Bomb and a Machete Outside of the Nyc Police Station
Two cousins were arrested on Wednesday after a strange event outside of a New York City police station involving a knife and what might have been a pipe bomb.
The driver of the car told police that the other man had hit him with a knife. The gun was found in the car, and the suspect was arrested.
The person then told the police that there was a bomb in the car, according to the police. It was what the police called a “potentially viable improvised explosive device.”
Fox News Digital got a picture of the pretty big gadget.
The NYPD bomb team was then called to look into it.
Police said at a press meeting on Wednesday afternoon that they were still trying to figure out if the device worked.
A deputy chief in the NYPD’s Counter Terrorism Division, Jason Huerta, said the suspect who had the device was “rambling on about paranoia and ideas that don’t make sense.”
Police said that both guys involved in the incident had been arrested 10 to 20 times before, but not in the last five to ten years.
The police also said that the event doesn’t seem to have been related to terrorism or politics.
“Right now, it looks like it was mostly a family dispute.” The person who had the device might have had mental problems. That’s how it looks to us right now.”
