Dignity Commons Accepting Applications for 3BR Homes
Applications due by January 12
The Alameda County Housing Authority has announced that at least two three-bedroom homes in Alameda are now available at Dignity Commons , 2350 Rainbow Court at Alameda Point.
Each unit is 1,600 square feet with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining area, living room, patio, and kitchen with stove and refrigerator. Water and trash services are included. There is an on-site laundry and off-street parking, an outdoor play area for kids, pergola, and community garden. Pets are allowed with an additional deposit. No smoking is allowed. Case management services are available.
To qualify, households must include four to six people, and the total household income must be below 50% of AMI (Area Medium Income, see chart below.)
All applications are due by January 12, 2025 at 5 p.m. Submitted applications that do not meet qualifying criteria will not be considered, so potential tenants are asked to carefully review all qualifications listed on the Alameda County Housing Portal before submitting an application. All information about the available units and instructions on how to apply are available on that web page.
Applications must be submitted online or mailed. Please note that there is a $35 application fee per applicant aged 18 and over, due at the interview. If a unit is rented, the deposit will be $3,921.

- Occupancy limit : 4-6 people per unit.
- Rental assistanc e: Housing Choice Vouchers, Section 8, and other valid rental assistance programs will be considered for this property. In the case of a valid rental subsidy, the required minimum income will be based on the portion of the rent that the tenant pays after the use of the subsidy.
- Housing preferences : Preferences are ranked as follows.

- Veterans. Households with one or more active member(s) of the military, or a Veteran discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, or a surviving spouse (as defined by the Department of Veterans Affairs).
After all preference holders have been considered, any remaining units will be available for consideration to other qualified applicants.
- Additional eligibility rules : Applicants must also qualify under the rules of the building, including a criminal background check.
