Eight Puppies Left Out in the Sweltering Texas Heat Were Found and Saved by Cops

A group of puppies was found after being left in a cage in a field in Tarrant County, Texas when it was very hot.

A post on the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page says the eight puppies were left alone on Monday in 100-degree heat without water.

Thank goodness, a kind person found the dogs and told the police about it.

“Unfortunately, there aren’t any surveillance cameras in the area where the puppies were found, so it’s not likely that we’ll be able to catch the person who dumped the puppies,” the sheriff’s office wrote online.

The dogs were saved by Deputies Collin Stephenson and Haley Drew of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and the Animal Care and Control team from Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Animal Care and Control team put up a status update on Facebook with pictures of the animals.

“The puppies that were rescued from a carrier in 100-degree weather by Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office are doing much better,” it said.

A different post says that the 6-week-old puppies are at the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care and Adoption Center.

The rescue center has named the puppies after well-known chip brands. They are thought to be a mix of shepherds and other dogs.

Cheetos, Fritos, Ruffles, Lays Potato, Cheese Itz, Doritos, and Pringles are the new names for the dogs.

He told Fort Worth Animal Care and Control that he was going to take one of the eight puppies.

The animal center wants people to foster or adopt the puppies, and they should be ready to be adopted sometime next week.

“Never leave your pet in a hot vehicle.”

“Do less exercise when it’s hot. Work out early in the morning or late at night.

“Walk your pet in the grass if possible, to avoid hot surfaces burning their paws.”

“If your pet is outside, make sure they have access to shade and plenty of cool water.”
