Ex-CFO of the Trump Organization Allen Weisselberg Admits to Lying in Court!
CNS News– Former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, has found himself entangled once again in legal troubles, this time pleading guilty to perjury charges stemming from his testimony during former President Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial. Weisselberg’s admission of guilt comes after allegations surfaced regarding his sworn testimony on May 12, 2023, and Oct. 10, 2023, concerning the dimensions of Trump’s Fifth Avenue Manhattan triplex.
During a court appearance in Manhattan, Weisselberg openly confessed to knowingly misleading investigators about the size of Trump’s triplex to secure favorable loans, insurance rates, and other financial benefits. This admission, according to Gary Fishman, presenting the perjury case for the Manhattan district attorney’s office, underscores the severity of Weisselberg’s actions and their implications for the justice system.
The Manhattan judge overseeing the case sentenced Weisselberg, who is set to turn 77 in August, to five months in jail starting April 10. Despite his guilty plea, Weisselberg was released on his recognizance. However, this isn’t the first time Weisselberg has faced legal consequences.
In 2022, he pleaded guilty to evading taxes on nearly $2 million in off-the-books compensation from the Trump Organization, serving three months of a five-month sentence at New York’s Rikers Island jail. Weisselberg’s guilty plea follows negotiations with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, as reported by ABC News last month.
These negotiations aimed to resolve charges alleging that Weisselberg lied on the witness stand during the civil trial implicating Trump, his two adult sons, and another former Trump Organization executive in fraud. Throughout the trial, Weisselberg struggled to explain discrepancies regarding the size of Trump’s triplex, listed as 30,000 square feet on financial statements despite its actual size of less than 11,000 square feet.
His testimony contradicted evidence presented by the New York attorney general’s office, including emails and a letter certifying the exaggerated square footage. This inconsistency highlighted Weisselberg’s role in perpetuating falsehoods to bolster Trump’s financial image.

While Weisselberg’s guilty plea sheds light on his involvement in the Trump Organization’s legal woes, it remains unclear how this development will impact Trump’s ongoing legal battles. Despite Weisselberg’s admission of guilt, Trump maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing. As the legal proceedings unfold, the implications of Weisselberg’s actions continue to reverberate within the realms of business and politics.
