Five People Were Killed and One Teen Was Seriously Hurt in a Shooting in North Las Vegas, Police Say
Las Vegas, Nevada – Five people were killed and a teenage girl was seriously hurt in a shooting in North Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday night. Police said the suspect killed himself Tuesday morning after they caught up with him.
Monday just after 10 p.m., police were called to an apartment to investigate reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found two women who had been shot and later declared dead, according to police. They were between 40 and 50 years old.
Then, detectives found a 13-year-old girl who was hurt at the flat. Police said the child was in very bad shape at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Police found three people shot at an apartment building nearby. Two of the women were in their mid-20s, and the guy was in his early 20s. The authorities said they were dead at the scene.
Police said that the Clark County Coroner’s Office would give them the names of the five dead. No one from the coroner’s office could be reached right away for comment on Tuesday afternoon.
The police think that 47-year-old Eric Adams killed the people.
Police in North Las Vegas got information about where Adams might be on Tuesday morning, they said. Police said he “was armed with a firearm and fled into the backyard of a residence at that location.” In the end, the Criminal Apprehension team found him.
Police started telling Adams to drop the gun, but he didn’t listen and ended his own life, according to the police.
There is an investigation going on with help from the Las Vegas Police Force Investigation Team, North Las Vegas police said.
On Tuesday afternoon, police did not have any more information to share. Police said that more information about the “overall investigation” would be made public later.
