Florida Tourist Stabbed in Front of Child at New York’s Adventureland Amusement Park
A guy from Florida was stabbed at New York’s Adventureland Amusement Park on Long Island late Sunday afternoon. He is in critical condition and can’t go on vacation with his family over the Fourth of July weekend.
An attack happened in Suffolk County, New York, about 35 miles east of New York City. A plumber from New York was arrested after the crime.
They said that at least one child saw what happened, which led to more charges being brought against the suspect.
A 42-year-old man from Shirley named Daniel Tomasky is being charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the safety of a child.
He was supposed to go to court on Monday morning.
James Burns, 47, from Edgewater, Florida, was taken to the hospital by rescuers. He is in serious condition.
Police said the two were friends and that they got into a fight with other people in the park just before 5 p.m.
Tomasky is said to have taken out a knife and stabbed Burns in the stomach while at least one child watched.
Police in Suffolk County want anyone who knows anything about what happened to call officers at 631-854-8152.
A part of the park was cut off by the government, but it reopened before the end of the night, according to News 12 Long Island.
At the time of the attack, other people in the park said it was sad, but they didn’t seem to care.
A man from Copiague called the station and said, “It’s a little unsettling, but again, it’s becoming less and less news.” “It’s more common and expected.”
