Florida Woman Rescued After Porsche Left Dangling from Parking Garage in Dramatic Crash
A woman was rescued after a collision left a Porsche SUV dangling from the third level of a parking garage in Coral Gables, Florida, on Monday, according to officials.
The incident occurred on the third level of a garage at 1567 San Remo Ave. when officials claimed the woman driving the SUV appeared to have mistakenly pushed the accelerator.
According to Coral Gables Fire Rescue authorities, the SUV crashed through a concrete barrier.
The white SUV was seen over the edge of the garage and against a tree in aerial footage captured by an NBC South Florida aircraft.
According to officials, a woman was inside the vehicle, which was hanging partially out but was supported by a tree.
Rescue workers used ropes to lift the woman to safety, and she was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
“I’m pretty sure she was shaken up, but from the outside, she appeared to be fairly calm given how dramatic this incident was,” Coral Gables Fire Rescue Chief Xavier Jones said.
An employee at a doctor’s office across the street reported hearing the hit.
“I heard a car pulling out as if they accidentally pressed the gas or were attempting to drive incredibly quickly. Katiana Polanco said, “I heard a really hard crash, so I assumed it was a car crash between two cars.”
Officials used a crane to remove the vehicle and stated that structural engineers would inspect the garage.
