For Unlawful Possession of Firearms, a Man From Madison Was Given a Sentence of Sixty-five Months in Jail
In a statement released on Friday, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Gregory Haanstad, stated that a man from Madison was given a sentence of sixty-five months in prison for possessing five weapons while he was a convicted felon.
Orlando Watson, who was 41 years old at the time, was found guilty of possessing cocaine with the purpose to distribute it in a federal court in 2012. As a result of this conviction, he was prohibited from ever possessing a handgun under both federal and state statutes.
By the documents filed with the court, Watson had transported five firearms from his apartment in Madison to a storage facility in Appleton.
Following the completion of his time in jail, he will be subject to supervision for a period of three years.
