Grinch Catches Florida Woman for Lying About Gift Theft and Ridiculed!

A Florida mother of five who got donations because she said a thief stole her kids’ Christmas presents was caught lying and arrested, with The Grinch dancing along with the police. Shana Hudson, 39, broke the hearts of her nice neighbors when she went on TV a few weeks ago to talk about how someone broke into her Lehigh Acres home and stole her kids’ gifts.

The community came together to support the family and gave the kids some new gifts. But then the Lee County Sheriff’s Office got a tip that Hudson was making up the story. The stolen gifts were finally found hidden at a family member’s house. NBC 2 reports that the sheriff’s office decided to use the original to teach Hudson a lesson about being a Grinch.

I heard a riiiing… The LCSO put a video of the embarrassing arrest on Facebook and said, “Hey Shana, Whoville called, they want their Grinch back.” It shows parts of Hudson’s original story where she begs the thief to turn himself in, but then it cuts right to her arrest and shows cops carrying her to the back of a van while someone dressed as The Grinch follows behind.

Along with a version of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” the green Santa made fun of Hudson and pointed to the department’s “Marceno Motel Courtesy Shuttle,” a decorated van that takes suspects to the Lee County Jail. The video also showed that the stolen gifts were kept hidden behind a machine at the Lehigh Acres home of a family member.

The bus is named after Sheriff Carmine Marceno, who spoke out against Hudson’s alleged fraud and the Christmas-themed arrest. In a statement, he said, “This poor behavior is not acceptable, especially given the circumstances this holiday season.” For being selfish, this woman cheated the system, and now she has to pay for it.

He was taken to the county jail and charged with giving police a false report of fraud. Police said, “This Grinch will have plenty of time to think twice about stealing Christmas.” “Everyone in this county ‘hates, double hates, loathes’ a liar,'” they said. “We hope that the motel rooms are nicer than her heart this Christmas.” When The Post asked for more details, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office did not respond right away.
