Guy in Colorado Who is Accused of Killing a Woman Asked a Passerby to Help Her and Said He Saw Her Struggling to Breathe
A man in Denver is accused of killing a woman. He is said to have flagged down a bystander after assaulting her and asked them to call 911.
This person says that Brian Mervin, 50, told them that he found his “wife” on the ground on Monday, August 19. This was said by Denver police in a news release that was shared on social media. He said he saw her having trouble breathing.
When first responders got there, they saw a woman, whose name the police have not yet released, who had several injuries that were not described. It’s not clear if the woman was Mervin’s wife.
When the woman got to the hospital, she was already dead. Police said they saw that her injuries were consistent with an attack and started to look into her death as a domestic violence murder.
Mervin was caught and is “being held for investigation of one count of first-degree murder,” the press statement from the police said.
At this point, it’s not clear if Mervin has been officially charged with murder. People spoke with someone from the Denver District Attorney’s Office who said the office has not yet gotten the case.
Mervin is being held in a city jail with a $1 million bond. The next time he has to go to court is August 23.
