Illinois GOP Leaders Unite in Unprecedented Support for Kamala Harris

0

CHICAGO — Several well-known Republicans in Illinois are supporting Kamala Harris. The vice president’s team started Republicans for Harris on Sunday to get Republican voters to the polls and vote for Harris.

Some well-known GOP backers are former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar, former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and former Reps. Adam Kinzinger and Joe Walsh.

Walsh told Chris Tye why he thinks more elite Republicans are ready to take this step now.

“Many of these Republicans were not enthused about Joe Biden, and so I think Kamala Harris, who’s had a hell of 17 days now, has, I think, garnered a lot of enthusiasm among some Republicans that she can win,” he added. Trump is the clear favorite to win the election. For Kamala Harris to win, she needs to build a coalition of far-left leftists who will never vote for Trump.

Walsh thinks that joining the movement means they will probably never be elected to a Republican post again. This is why so many of the people who are joining are veterans or people who have already been elected.
