Kansas City Police Investigate Homicide After Man Found Injured on Independence Avenue
Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a killing that occurred Thursday night.
Just before 7:30 p.m., officers were summoned to the 3700 block of Independence Avenue in response to reports of an armed party.
When they arrived, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from bodily harm.
Emergency medical workers arrived on the scene and brought the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers were alerted to the area of East 6th Street and Monroe Avenue at the same time in response to an ambulance en route.
Authorities eventually established that the calls were related. According to officials, the original incident took place at 6th and Monroe.
According to officials, a preliminary investigation found that the victim sustained injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. Responding cops identified many witnesses on the scene, and investigators are interrogating them to establish what caused the event.
