Louisiana Man Arrested for Threatening to Blow Up Ulta Beauty Store in Alabama
A Louisiana man has been detained after threatening to blow up an Ulta Beauty store in Alabama.
Timothy Lincoln, 42, allegedly made a phone call outside an Ulta Beauty store on Saturday morning. During the call, he allegedly informed the person he was speaking with, “I’m going to blow this s*** up!”
An employee from the store who was outside apparently heard him. The customers and personnel inside were evacuated, and police were summoned. It is unclear from the complaint whether Lincoln ever entered the store.
When police arrived on the scene, Lincoln was arrested. The Opelika Police Department examined the area for explosives but discovered nothing.
Lincoln’s mugshot is remarkable, with his beard painted blue and his face covered in colorful marks. The markings appear to be paint or makeup rather than tattoos. It is unclear when Lincoln made the markings, and authorities have not commented on them as of this writing.
Ulta Beauty has permanently banned Lincoln from all of its locations.
He is charged with first-degree making a terrorist threat. Lincoln is now being held at the Lee County Detention Center with a $100,000 bond. If convicted, he may serve up to ten years in prison.
This is the second time this year that someone has allegedly threatened to bomb a beauty and fashion business. However, that situation was more complicated than an alleged menacing phone call.
Williams Rodriguez-Juarez was accused in Boston in June of unarmed robbery, making a bomb or hijack threat, assault and battery on a police officer, strangulation or suffocation, trespassing, resisting arrest, and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to Boston 25.
Rodriguez-Juarez’s lengthy list of alleged misdeeds began when he entered a Primark store while intoxicated and began shouting at personnel near the store’s docking area. Police claim he made obscene remarks at employees and tried to steal products before threatening to “blow this place up.”
When police came, Rodriguez-Juarez was allegedly fighting with a security guard and demanding that he be arrested. They did not, instead attempting to take him into prison. He allegedly fought back, biting an officer who attempted to stop him.
He was caught and arraigned in August.
