Man Arrested in Fatal Woodbridge Shooting; Second Suspect Sought in Murder-for-hire
The Prince William County Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the death of a lady discovered dead in her car in Woodbridge in February.
On February 2, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Bronson Court and Brickwood Drive just after 2 a.m., where they discovered a 23-year-old woman inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead by emergency responders who arrived on location.
Officials later recognized the woman as Egypt Zipporah Carter from Burlington, North Carolina.
An investigation into the homicide found that it was a murder-for-hire intended to assassinate Carter. Detectives eventually discovered that Drew Courtney Buchanan, 27, was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting.
The department is now looking for an additional suspect, Denzel Scott Wade, 30. Police suspect he was also engaged in the murder, along with Buchanan. Police have already issued an arrest warrant to place him in custody.
Buchanan was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, shooting at an inhabited car, and using a handgun to commit a felony. He is currently being held without a bond.
Wade is described as a black male with dark hair and brown eyes. According to police, he stands 5’11” and weighs approximately 170 pounds.
The department is seeking anyone with knowledge of Wade’s whereabouts or who can assist authorities in this investigation to contact the police.
