Here’s what Jesse A. Sartin is said to have done to his girlfriend’s 1-year-old daughter
Law and Crime says that on July 24, the Lawrenceburg Police Department was called by St. Elizabeth Hospital Dearborn for help. The call said that a girl who was 21 months old had a “suspicious” head injury.
After that, the child was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In that hospital, doctors did “emergency brain surgery” to reduce the swelling and pressure in her head.
Furthermore, the news source says that doctors said the child’s brain was so swollen that it “leaked” through her ears.
Reports say the suspect explains why he hit a 1-year-old.
WLWT says that Sartin told cops about what he did to the child in an interview. He is said to have said that the baby “was being aggressive and flailing her arms, not wanting to get out of the bathtub” after being bathed.
He is said to have then grabbed her and “shook her for about 20 seconds.”
The source says the 1-year-old died on August 1. According to WLWT, the child had “swelling to the brain, significant hemorrhages in both eyes and hemorrhaging in the spinal cord” during the autopsy. People also say that the child’s injuries were “in line with shaken baby syndrome.”
