The Social Security check payment schedule allows United States RSDI beneficiaries to determine when they will receive their various benefit payments, regardless of the amount received.
Furthermore, the Cost of Living Adjustment means that they will be able to receive a larger payment in 2025, which appears to be positive news.
If you receive RSDI benefits for retirement, disability, survivor, or any other reason, you will be able to continue receiving them in the coming weeks. And, best of all, March will not be the last month to receive the payment, though payment dates will vary slightly in subsequent months.
In addition to that, we must bear in mind that it is possible not to receive one of the Social Security payments within the month of March.
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check does not arrive on the usual day of the month, so we will receive the payment on a different day, although this payment is independent of the RSDI checks.

Regardless of the type of benefit we have, if we accept an RSDI check, we will receive our March payment without issue. The type of benefit does not affect the day of collection, so whether we have a retirement check, a disability payment, or a survivor payment, we will receive it on any of those days.
Pay attention to the payment schedule.
- March 3rd. Payments for retirees before May 1997.
- March 12th. Benefit checks for retirees after May 1997. You must also have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- March 19th. Retirement benefit checks for retirees after May 1997. Your birthday must also fall between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- March 26th. Benefit checks for retirees after May 1997. You must also have your birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
The type of benefit you receive on these days does not matter, nor does the amount you usually get. The important thing is to meet the established requirements and have the RSDI payment accepted.
Why is there no SSI in March 2025?
RSDI beneficiaries’ households receive SSI payments on the first of each month, with some exceptions. When the first of the month falls on a holiday or weekend, the Administration sends the checks the next business day. And that is exactly what will happen in March 2025.
As a result, payments for the upcoming month’s benefits, whether we have RSDI or not, will arrive on February 28. With Direct Deposit enabled, we will be able to receive this payment without any issues on the day it is sent.
