Mark Your Calendar: Social Security Payments Up to $4,873 On Their Way
In accordance with the schedule that was devised by the Social Security Administration (SSA) for the years 2024 and 2025, recipients of Social Security will receive significant payments in a way that is staggered during the months of December and January.
This indicates that the dates have been predetermined since the previous year, ensuring that the recipients of the money will possess the assurance that it will be delivered to them.
One of the first things that happened was that beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) received an advance payment on November 29, which was technically the month of December.
This is due to the fact that the Social Security Administration does not make payments on weekends or holidays; rather, it advances them to the business day that was the closest to the preceding one.
Payments from Social Security that were rendered in December and were already finished
Following the SSI payment that was mentioned before, the Social Security Administration (SSA) went on to send a second batch of payments to beneficiaries who were divided into numerous categories, which are as follows:
- Individuals who are not residents of the United States.
- Beneficiaries who claim benefits from both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- Medicare premiums are paid by beneficiaries who reside in the state in which they are enrolled.
- Those recipients who received their Social Security benefits prior to the year 1997.
An additional payment was provided to retirees who have a birthday that falls between the first and tenth of any given month; the date for these individuals was December 11 last year. This payment type also includes surviving relatives of a deceased beneficiary who have a birthday that falls between the dates specified in the previous sentence.
There are three additional payments that are due in December of 2024.
Before the end of the year, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will deliver three additional rounds of payments to retirees and family members who are still alive. The dates for these payments are as follows:
- December 18: If any day between the eleventh and the twentieth of any given month is your birthday,
- December 24: In the event that your birthday comes on a month that has a 20th through a 31st.
- December 31: In accordance with January 1 (a federal holiday), SSI beneficiaries will get an advance payment.
When your January Social Security paycheck arrives, find out before anyone else does
As previously stated, on December 31, 2024, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive both their January 2025 payment and their Social Security payment.
On January 3, people who solely get Social Security and who fulfill specific requirements—like not being in the United States or applying for benefits prior to 1997—will receive their payout.
Additionally, the beneficiary must receive these payments on certain dates determined by the month of their birth. Your payment will be made on January 8, the second Wednesday of the month, if your birthday falls between January 1 and January 10.
The payment will be made on the third Wednesday, which is January 15, for people whose birthdays fall between the eleventh and the twentieth. Lastly, the fourth Wednesday of the month, or January 22, is when individuals born after the 20th will get paid.
